Most of the time, skipped stitches are caused from a incorrect or damaged sewing needle. If you are getting skipped stitches, it is recommended that you replace your sewing needle with a designed for your application (i.e Stretch/Jersey needle for stretch material, denim needle for jeans and denim work, or a universal needle for polyesters and cottons).
If you are still experiencing skipped stitch after changing the needle, try the following:
- Check and remove any built up fluff in your feed dogs (under the needle plate)
- Re-thread your top and bobbin thread. Please refer to your instruction manual for the threading guide for your machine.
- If your material has a strong stretch or is rubberised, try sewing with a stabilizer.
